Sergeant Major Anthony Stevens, a native of Alabama, joined the Army in June of 1984 and served honorably for 32 years, recently retiring in November 2016. Sergeant Major Stevens served in multiple assignments from Combat Medic to his final position as the Inspector General Sergeant Major for the U.S. Army Surgeon General, U.S Army Medical Command.

Sergeant Major Stevens’ awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit; the Bronze Star with oak leaf cluster; the Army Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters; the Army Commendation Medal with four oak leaf clusters; Achievement Medal with four oak leaf clusters; the Good Conduct Medal 10th Award; the National Defense Service Medal with service star; the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; the Korea Defense Service Medal; the Armed Forces Service Medal; the Iraq Campaign Medal with two Campaign Stars; the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star; the Humanitarian Service Medal; the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (numeral 4); the Army Service Ribbon; the Overseas Service Ribbon (numeral 8); the NATO Medal with oak leaf cluster; the Combat Action Badge; the Expert Field Medical Badge; the Air Crew Members Badge; the Air Assault Badge; and the Drivers Badge. Sergeant Major Stevens is a member of The Order of Military Medical Merit.
